Established in 2010, Ramiah & Associates blends over 160 years of legal expertise with a forward-thinking approach, delivering exceptional services while expanding locally and internationally.
Situated in Westville, Bryanston with affiliate offices in Lakemore, Chicago and Guangzhou, China we are a fully credited, multi-national law firm which has been successfully running since 2010. We provide clients with advanced and innovative legal services, with an accreditation from the Legal Practice Council of South Africa and Fidelity Fund. In 2012 Ramiah & Associates absorbed another firm, Cowleys & Cowleys, which was incorporated in 1845 and contributed 166 years of ethical and professional service. While the work ethic of our office never changed our ethos grew. Dr. Dhevan Ramiah, our founder, has grown this company into a reputable law firm and has done considerable work contributing within South African and International Law by:
- Lecturing LLB & Bcom at Varsity College.
- Lecturing SMMES through the Department of Trade and Industry, the Ramaphosa Foundation and Shanduka Black Umbrellas.
- Lecturing Members of the Durban Chamber of Business.
- Speaking at the Law society of KZN annual general meeting as well as The Pan- African practitioners conference.
- Being appointed as the attorneys to the Zulu Royal Family.
- Being invited to speak at The International Risk on Companies Convention which was hosted by the Law society and the United Nations.
- Being appointed by Community Against Crime International.
- Receiving his qualification as a business rescue practitioner.
- Sitting as an independent trustee on numerous pension funds.
- Being a member of the Pension Fund Lawyers Association.
Our Vision
We are rapidly growing into many more and exiting ventures of which we are promoting growth in developing more staff members and expansion of our firm into other parts of the country. Our growth is a direct result of the client’s needs, we pride our selves in offering a concierge, bespoke service to our clients.
As society directs a more tech savvy environment, we are also leaning into creating more innovative ways to engage our clients with the work we do. Moving into a more Eco-friendly environment, we are aware that sustainable practices need to be undertaken into consideration within our daily routine.
We have made an application to become a member of the International Business Association (IBA), which will help boost our progression with international clients and cases dealing with foreign business.
